I took a bit of a different route to work this morning. In truth, it’s the route I take when I’m called by the coffee gods and wind up at Starbucks on my way to the office (I didn’t go there today). I have always wanted to stop on the way and get some pictures and the light this morning was too good to pass up.
I’ve always been a huge fan of Edward Hopper and some of the shots I got this morning really remind me of his work. The light at this time of day has such a warm an inviting quality to it which isn’t exactly what he was after in his work, but it’s the light that I respond to the most. Well, that and the isolation, but I’ve already mentioned that. I couldn’t pick between the two images today, so it’s a two-for-one post. I think they work nicely together too.
