From my very first Denver Stock Show. Didn’t know what to expect, but it definitely didn’t disappoint. LOTS of people watching as well as checking out all the giant critters. Good stuff.
It’s time to get serious about some BBQ today. I’m in the midst of cooking up some family perfected ribs. It’s an old recipe handed down from, well, just my dad, but he spent many hours perfecting the technique and has passed along the secret. Not really any secret to speak of, I suppose. Just one key ingredient: Rendezvous seasoning. If you haven’t ever had Rendezvous ribs from Memphis, TN, you’re missing out. Quite possibly the closest thing to heaven in food form. I pick up a couple of bottles of the seasoning every time I head back home. It’s a must have on hand. Yum!
Now it’s time to turn the heat to low, wrap them in foil and wait it out until they are cooked to the point of falling off the bone. I can’t wait! Can you smell them??
Down by the water in Vail. I love this town.
More shots from in town. I love how European it feels. It’s like getting far, far away for a quick visit. Nice.
Photos from a weekend in Vail. A chance to try to escape the heat of Denver and get some fresh mountain air. It was great to get up and get a little mountain biking in and then enjoy the scenery from town. Beautiful weekend.
Just a few more shots from the weekend in Chicago. Such a great city! Although I have a friend who has disowned me since I said that I might like Chicago as much as NYC now! Maybe if I visited CHI in January I might change my mind after a trip to the lake front…
A few shots of the church across the street from the Hancock building in Chicago. They’ve got a beautiful little courtyard right off of Michigan Avenue. You stumble in through the archways and forget that you’re even in a huge city. That is, of course, unless you turn around and see the Hancock Building looming over you.
I loved how intimate the space was and the light at this time of the day was amazing. A little piece of serenity in the middle of the hustle and bustle.
Somewhere over the Midwest. On the way to Chicago last weekend for the wedding.
See? She’s alive. Told you.
